Daily Beauty Fix

I'm at home with a poorly sick Alex today and got to thinking about the amount of skincare/beauty products I use daily.  Now as I don't wear much make up on a daily basis it's mainly skincare etc but it does take me a while in the morning/evening to get ready.  These are today's products which I thought I'd share :

First up is my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish which I use twice daily and couldn't live without.  I love the feeling of the hot cloth used to remove the cleanser and the cold water afterwards really tightens up your skin.  I have mine on auto delivery from QVC as I use so much of the stuff.

Then, depending on my mood, I use either Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream which is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth, or Elemis Illuminating Flash Blalm which has a slightly denser formula but goes on smoothly but takes a bit longer to sink into the skin.

Today I also used the Elemis Tan Accelerator on my legs as the skin was so dry (I suspect due to spending too much time in the sun) and this gives a lovely shimmering glow to the skin without leaving a sticky residue, and it smells lovely.  Decided to treat my hands too so gave them their weekly treatment with Crabtree & Evelyn Citron Hand Recovery Scrub which contains tiny granules which slough off the dead skin and give you hands as smooth as a babys bottom.  This was follows by lashings of L'Occitane Cherry Blossom handcream which I apply several times throughout each day.  I love the Cherry Blossom scent although all of this range smells pretty yummy.

Onto the only make up I tend to wear on a daily basis, Benefit Moon Beam is a fan little highlighting liquid that I apply a pea sized amount of to the apples of my cheeks to give them a dewy glow.  Finally I finish off with a coat of MAC lippy and today it was Midimauve that came out of the make up bag first.  This gorgeous pale plum colour is a perfect every day shade and suits all skin tones.  I love the vanillary scent of MAC lippies and these are the only lipsticks I've found that don't dry my lips out.

That's me done for today until tonight when it's Cleanse & Polish and Elemis Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream before bed.

Written down it seems like an awful lot of faff each day but my skin is always blemish free so I guess it's worth it.  Thanks for reading :-)

Competition Lovelies

I entered a Colours by Llarowe competition on Facebook last month not for a minute thinking I would win.  Six lovelies from their new collection arrived a few weeks ago and I was stunned to say the least as I never win anything.  This is the first polish I swatched.  Lucy I'm Home is a beautiful holo coral with a mega sparkle in the sunshine.  These are my first cBLs and I shall be adding more to my wish list.

Spring Fling

It is a beautiful spring day here today so to celebrate that the recent cold spell is coming to an end I give you Trafalgar Road from Nails Inc topped with a coat of Essie Pure Pearlfection to give it a lovely subtle shimmer.  This gorgeous fresh apple green shade is from one of Nails Incs latest QVC collections and is a must for pastelly springlike nails.

Blagger blog

Today's offering is from my newly acquired stash of Butter London polishes.  I discovered this brand completely by accident but absolutely love the colours and the formula. With names such as Snog, Slapper and Lady Muck these polishes always raise a smile too.  This stunning blue is called Blagger and is a denim kinda blue which is going to be perfect with the autumnal greys, chocolates and russets that are hotly tipped to be big this season.

More from this brand later in the week as I have lots more colours to try out.

It's all about blue

Today's post is the simply stunning Kensington Park Road which is one of the Nails Inc summer neons.  Although not strictly a neon in my opinion this beautiful turquoise blue (worn above with a coat of the ever fantastic Electric Lane Holographic topcoat) is so very versatile and is one of my absolute favourite colours in my collection.  Now as with Baker Street this is one colour I never thought I would own, let alone wear, but once on the nails it transforms into a thing of beauty and always gets commented upon (by men rather than women strangely) whenever I wear it.  The very top photo shows it worn with a touch of Leighton Denny's Angel Dust which gives a slightly more subtle sparkle rather than the full holo loveliness you get with Electric Lane but it looks equally stunning on it's own although I can never resist putting a coat of something over my creme polishes.

The weather seems to be brightening up so tomorrow's offering will no doubt reflect this :-)

Still going Dutch, with Gouda.

I've not blogged for a while but as I'm on leave for the next fortnight I'm hoping to go back to my daily offerings.

Sticking with the Dutch collection from OPI we have Gouda Gouda Two Shoes which is a beautiful rose colour with a subtle gold shimmer running through it.

After adding a few if this collection to my stash I have noticed that they all have a shimmer running through them which is perfect for me as I inevitably end up adding some sparkly topcoat to any solid creme polish I use and with these I don't need to.

What I absolutely love about this colour is that it will look fantastic on any length nails and it is such a great colour that goes with pretty much.everything.

I promise to move on from Holland tomorrow and give you a taste of something a little bit closer to home.

Holo all the way

I will admit to redoing my nails less than 24 hours after the last post after seeing this combo on a group I belong to.  I'm not a patient person at the best if times but I could not wait to try this.

Haymarket is one of my all time favourite greens and I haven't worn it for a while so thought I'd dig it out again.  Teamed with the gorgeous Electric Lane Holographic Topcoat it is simply stunning.

As you can see from the bottle Electric Lane is a blend of super fine holographic glitter suspended in a clear gel and looks beautiful worn over just about anything.  Add a coat of Kensington Caviar Topcoat and you're good to go.
