Blagger blog

Today's offering is from my newly acquired stash of Butter London polishes.  I discovered this brand completely by accident but absolutely love the colours and the formula. With names such as Snog, Slapper and Lady Muck these polishes always raise a smile too.  This stunning blue is called Blagger and is a denim kinda blue which is going to be perfect with the autumnal greys, chocolates and russets that are hotly tipped to be big this season.

More from this brand later in the week as I have lots more colours to try out.

It's all about blue

Today's post is the simply stunning Kensington Park Road which is one of the Nails Inc summer neons.  Although not strictly a neon in my opinion this beautiful turquoise blue (worn above with a coat of the ever fantastic Electric Lane Holographic topcoat) is so very versatile and is one of my absolute favourite colours in my collection.  Now as with Baker Street this is one colour I never thought I would own, let alone wear, but once on the nails it transforms into a thing of beauty and always gets commented upon (by men rather than women strangely) whenever I wear it.  The very top photo shows it worn with a touch of Leighton Denny's Angel Dust which gives a slightly more subtle sparkle rather than the full holo loveliness you get with Electric Lane but it looks equally stunning on it's own although I can never resist putting a coat of something over my creme polishes.

The weather seems to be brightening up so tomorrow's offering will no doubt reflect this :-)

Still going Dutch, with Gouda.

I've not blogged for a while but as I'm on leave for the next fortnight I'm hoping to go back to my daily offerings.

Sticking with the Dutch collection from OPI we have Gouda Gouda Two Shoes which is a beautiful rose colour with a subtle gold shimmer running through it.

After adding a few if this collection to my stash I have noticed that they all have a shimmer running through them which is perfect for me as I inevitably end up adding some sparkly topcoat to any solid creme polish I use and with these I don't need to.

What I absolutely love about this colour is that it will look fantastic on any length nails and it is such a great colour that goes with pretty much.everything.

I promise to move on from Holland tomorrow and give you a taste of something a little bit closer to home.

Holo all the way

I will admit to redoing my nails less than 24 hours after the last post after seeing this combo on a group I belong to.  I'm not a patient person at the best if times but I could not wait to try this.

Haymarket is one of my all time favourite greens and I haven't worn it for a while so thought I'd dig it out again.  Teamed with the gorgeous Electric Lane Holographic Topcoat it is simply stunning.

As you can see from the bottle Electric Lane is a blend of super fine holographic glitter suspended in a clear gel and looks beautiful worn over just about anything.  Add a coat of Kensington Caviar Topcoat and you're good to go.

I love Lily

Todays offering is the summer bright I've been promising, with a bit of added bling.  Using Nail Inc Shoreditch as the base colour which is a vibrant bright pink and is the ultimate girly pink IMO, I then added one coat of OPI I Lily Love You which as the close up below shows, is a mix of fine and chunky multi coloured glitter pieces suspended in a pink gel base.

Whilst I have only ever worn this over darker colours (it looks stunning over black) I do love the slightly more subtle look over a complimenting pink shade. It changes as it catches the light and is uber sparkly.  Definately one for the party season.

Going Dutch.

Despite promising myself that I would do bright pink nails for today's post, when my nail mail arrived I just had to try this one out straight away.

This polish is from OPIs Dutch range and is called "I have a herring problem".  Not only do I love the names they choose for their polishes I also adore the brushes which makes for the perfect application each time with rarely any need for a clean up after applying.

This is a gorgeous duck egg blue/ grey shade with a subtle silver shimmer running through it.  This is one of those versatile colours that doesn't look out or place if you are wearing jeans or equally that little black dress.  I love it.

This polish and the others in the range can be found at www.lenawhite.com

Leighton Lovelies

Todays offering is a new combination from Leighton Denny.  The Heiress is a sumptuous violet polish which has a slight blue tone to it.  Finished off with a coat of the ever versatile Angel Dust which is a silver glitter suspended in a clear gel.  Very subtle unlike some of the other glitters on the market.  Applied really well and although I used two coats for the pic, one coat gave good full coverage.  Both polishes available from www.leightondenny.com

Scrumptious Sprinkles

Day 2 here we go!

I will eventually get round to writing blogs about my latest nail mail as and when it arrives but whilst i'm fairly new to this blogging malarkey, I shall use my favourite polishes as the basis for my early posts so please forgive me if you've seen these polishes a million times elsewhere.

Today is all about sprinkles - the nail polish kind rather than the kind you get on top of cakes although it could well be argued that these are just as scrummy but without the calories :-)

Again all of these polishes are available from www.nailsinc.com and are priced at £11 each.

All of the sprinkles shown here are worn over a cream polish simply because I find them easier to remove that way (although the foil method still needs to be used but not for as long) but they can all be worn on their own if you wish.  I used one coat of the base colour and one coat of the sprinkles.

First up is Pudding Lane which is a beautiful deep turquoise base with multi coloured glittery sprinkles in white, black and silver.  This worn over a base of Kensington Park Road which matches almost perfectly.

Next in line is the vibrant Topping Lane which is a really girly pink colour again with the multi coloured shimmery sparkles in blue, silver, white and black (this one reminds me of icing on a doughnut) and is worn over a coat of Power Pink.

Sugarhouse Lane is next and this is my personal favourite out of all of the sprinkles and reminds me of pretty pebbles in the sand and beaches.  A caramel neutral, this one is worn over Porchester Square and gives a lovely pebbledash effect with the black silver and white sparkles.

Finally we have Sweets Way which is pale blue base with pink, white and dark blue sparkles and this is worn over Oxford.  This is the most subtle of the sprinkles but it is nice and looks far better in real life than the picture shows.

Right that's me done for today.  Am off for a nice cuppa and a cupcake (with sprinkles of course).  Thanks for reading xx

Baker Street Blues

Thought I would kick start my very first blog with one of my absolute favourite nail polishes of all time - the fabulous Baker Street from Nails Inc. (www.nailsinc.com)

This super gorgeous cobalt blue is a must have for any polish collection and is surprisingly versatile.  To be honest when this colour first launched my polish peers were all raving about it and I could never imagine myself wearing it - until I got my hands on a bottle and actually tried it - I now have two back ups in my collection as this is one colour I NEVER want to be without.  It applies like a dream and I use two coats to get the perfect depth of blue.  Worn here with a coat of Leighton Denny's Angel Dust to give it a stunning sparkle but equally lovely worn on it's own!

Here endeth my first blog post!!
